I’ve been ordering veg from Riverford for so many years I can’t remember. It must be more than 10. Firstly I love the amazing fruit and veg, but secondly I love the way the company never stops innovating and creating new products, new apps, new recipes, new videos.
I confess I’m a horrible mix of reluctant cook and super market ditherer. I get into a super market, get completely overwhelmed by how much stuff there is in there and leave with virtually nothing. It’s not that I don’t like food, it’s just that I don’t know what to buy and then very easily cremate what I have bought whilst being totally distracted by kids’ bath time, bedtime, work, laundry, whatever. A veg box scheme is perfect for me, because I can broadly choose which box and then what’s inside it isn’t up to me. I can just roll with it.
Right now, the fridge is pretty empty and I’ve been crazy busy. It’s gone 9pm and I’m eating cherry tomatoes for dinner because I have no idea what to cook and I’m watching Riverford videos on YouTube. It’s possible that I’m slightly barking mad, but my Riverford box arrives tomorrow and with it a new resolve to do some meal planning and actually try to cook more than one or two decent meals a week.
